Hi All!
I hope you are all making the most of the good weather during your confinement and you’re helping out at home?
Your teachers have posted work for your class to keep you busy over the coming weeks. Please try to do a little bit each day. It’s ok if you don’t get all work done so long as you try your best. Also Mr Tynan has posted lots of websites and suggestions too for you to try.
I know some of you are finding it very difficult to adjust to your new daily routine – your parents know you best and are in the best position to help you out. All teachers’ email addresses are on the website so if you have any questions or want to check anything please do so by email. Here is a list of some of the activities we do that you may want to keep up –

Literacy:
· sightwords.com for games to play while practising sight words
· Read, Read, Read – we have made the Accelerated Reading Programme accessible to all children from 3rd-6th so you can now quiz from home. Whether you read by yourself, listen to an audio-book on myOn (see link on website) read with someone or even listen to someone at home read to you, you can take your quiz just as you do in school. Aim to keep up your reading time each day maybe 10-15 minutes in the morning and 10-15 minutes later in the day.
Numeracy:
· See teacher’s suggestions and try topmarks for tables practice/games
Gross Motor:
· Get out! – have you tried the T.J. Reid toilet roll challenge?! Test yourself?
· Make an obstacle course. Get creative-use all movements-walk/run/hop 1 and 2 feet/side step/tip toe/stomp/backwards/forwards/crawl/roll. Test out mam or dad/ family members to see if they are able to do it?
· Kick ball-right/left/at target-change target...can you kick ball into a bucket?
Fine Motor:
· Colouring, stickers, hole punch, play-dough, join the dots, painting water on ground outside, chalk on ground outside, painting pictures, thread pasta
· Make yourself a snack-butter your toast/cracker, open packets yourself (with permission of course!)
Sensory:
· Slime, water play, papier maché (redtedart.com) bake bread/pizza dough/rice/lentils
Pinterest has some great ideas for creating learning activities with everyday objects found at home covering all aspects of learning.
