Thanks to your wonderful generosity, we collected 2 ambulance loads of donations last Friday when Jim Kavanagh parked the Chernobyl Children International ambulance in our front playground. Jim hopes to set off with their convoy on March 21st, travelling first by ship to Dunkirk in France, then on to Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland and finally down to the Polish/Ukrainian border. It will take three to four days of travel. Our donations will get exactly to the people who need them.
We wish Jim and his team a safe and peaceful journey. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Ukrainian people at this very sad and terrible time.

Grandparents’ Day
Wednesday 26th January : Celebrating Being Together Again
Today we are asked to think about our school as a community of love. We especially think of our Grandparents. They can be very important teachers who show us how to love, how to be caring and how to share. They can teach us about the past and about the importance of working hard and doing our best. They can teach us through love. In our Catholic school, we try to show that love each day in kind thoughts, kind words and kind actions. We thank God for our grandparents and celebrate their contribution to our lives.

Christmas Art Competition 2021
Many of the students participated in this year's Christmas Art Competition which was a great success. It created a festive buzz around the school with lots of chat as to who would be the final winners!!! All the art work has been displayed in the hall for everyone to see and has brightened up the place immensely. The Student Council took their judging duties on with gusto and voted anonymously. It truly was an extremely difficult task. All the entries were amazing and we are so proud of all the children. Well done to all the participants and especially to all the finalists. It's great to see that artistic talent is alive and well in our school
Well done to all our winners.

Anti-Bullying Week 2021: Monday 18th - Friday 22nd October
Our theme this year is - ONE KIND WORD
Our theme this year is - ONE KIND WORD
Please note that a full review of our Anti-Bullying Policy has been completed and ratified by the Board of Management at our meeting on Monday 11th October 2021. This may be viewed in our policies section above under the SCHOOL tab. A hard copy is available on request through our school office.
We held our annual Anti-Bullying Week in the lead up to the Halloween Holidays. The theme this year was 'One Kind Word'. Each class in the school was involved in lessons and activities based on this theme. On Tuesday, all classes spent time offering one kind word or phrase to their classmates. On Wednesday, we celebrated our uniqueness with everybody wearing odd socks which brought an array of colour to the school! The 6th class very kindly took anti bullying week from another angle this year as they carried out a lesson with all the junior classes. The children really enjoyed this aspect of the week and the 6th class have to be commended for their amazing preparation and delivery of the lesson. All children really enjoyed the story 'Perfectly Norman' and we hope that the lessons learnt from it will stay with them throughout their lives. Thank you to Ms.Bergin who helped the 6th class prepare so well for their teaching debut!
Activities were constant throughout the week from stories, role plays, comic strips and posters to making chains of kind words and celebrating how one kind word can lift a person's day. We hope that all the children in the school enjoyed the week and that they discussed it with you at home. A special thanks to our co-ordinator, Ms. Liz Murphy, for all her hard work. Well done to all involved.
