Wednesday June 3rd
Hi Boys and Girls,
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the good weather! I know it’s not easy being away from your friends and not being able to do all your activities that you guys normally love to do! Hopefully we will all be back together again soon.
In the meantime,I’d love if you guys could make one last big effort to help out the adults caring for you at home! Remember how much they are doing for you every day: cooking, cleaning, helping you learn, helping other people living in your home, shopping, as well as working! They really are superheroes! Listen to what they are asking you to do, they know best! I know you are already doing this anyway and I know how hard it is on you guys too!
Remember, after this week you only have 4 weeks of the summer term left so try hard to do a little bit of school work every day of and most of all have fun outside in the good weather!! I know you are all trying your very best because I have seen some wonderful pictures of your work, including, writing, spelling, maths, science. Many of you have been busy cultivating healthy habits such as, being out in the fresh air, exercising, planting seeds, making art and caring for animals which is fabulous to see! James sent me the most fabulous pictures yesterday of his and his Granddad’s potato and pumpkin plants and Jeff sent me some fab pics of his written work and has told me about helping his Dad on his farm!! James has even done the Garden in a Bottle experiment! Maybe you could ask him about it on our return to school? I’m sure he’d love to tell you! Well done to all of you on all your work, inside and out!
So, I wanted to tell you guys that I was in our classroom yesterday and you will never guess what I saw! Does anyone remember the bag of compost that was on the window sill beside Our Garden Centre?? And remember I said you could play there so long as no one touched the packet of lettuce seeds as we were going to plant them in the large pot outside the classroom door where we all line up every day? Well do you also remember on one of those days before we left school some of the kids playing in our Garden Centre planted those seeds in the bag of soil while I wasn’t watching?? And I crossly said before our morning prayer, when I noticed the seeds had vanished, “Who opened the lettuce seeds!?” And a few of you shyly put up your hands. Well, I now have to say a big well done to you guys that planted them, BECAUSE , do you know what I saw in the bag yesterday??? About seven or eight fabulous, tall, glossy, light green lettuce leaves!!!! Well done!!! Whoever planted them had remembered the 3 rules for growing plants that we had learned before we left school:
And guess who is responsible for watering our lettuce all this time?????...Good old Ginger!!
See pictures attached!! Myself and Annette can’t wait to see you guys again soon!! Keep Safe!
