Dear Parent/Guardian,
Just a little note to fill you in on what's happening as regards the introduction of the New Primary Curriculum.
From September 2025 onwards, we will begin the roll-out of the rest of the subjects.
This will include new areas of learning such as Technology and Engineering (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), a broader Arts Education and also modern languages for children in third class onwards.
Teachers will have time allocated for training and preparation. An example of this is our additional school closure this Thursday June 22nd, when we will complete further training on the new Language Curriculum and also an introduction to this full new Primary Curriculum.
The Dept. of Education has issued a short leaflet for you, our parent body, explaining briefly the main points that will change, and have also provided links to further information.
Our present curriculum came into being in 1999 when we all began a new journey then. We hope you join with us as we begin and share this new and exciting journey together.
Kind regards,
Brendan Tynan (Principal)
