Our student Council News

I hope you are well. I’m sure the students council have been keeping you up to date with the latest news but in case it has slipped their minds here are some things you might like to know.

Students Council, Mr. Mullally and Ms. Harrison
- We have eventually rteceived the padding for around the goals.
- A request to start playing on the grass and will be discussed by teachers on the yard at the time.
- We are busy trying to source goals for the side area of grass.
- As next week is Well-being and Friendship, we have organised some collaborative and team building games for the classes.
- We discussed the uniform and wearing shorts during warmer weather. Encouraging all students to wear navy shorts.
- I also spoke to Hennessy’s regarding the cuffs on the jumpers. They will talk to the manufacturers.
- New student council poster making and canvassing will be under way in the next few weeks, please encourage your class to think about putting their name forward for the job. Voting will take place in June.
- Finally, with thanks to Luke Kelly’s parents, student council are in charge of hatching eggs. The incubator is in the hall if anyone wants to keep an eye.

Next on our agenda! Christmas Art Competition - Closing Date 13th December. This year the art competition is Construction/Clay i.e. Junk Art (three-dimensional art made from discarded material (such as paper, cardboard, rags, metal, mortar, glass, or wood)). This is a project they do at home and It is totally up to the children if they want to enter. No pressure!! |
Our First Venture
Bake Sale organised by the Student Council - November 2022 Lovely treats were enjoyed on the day of the bake sale. The children also shared some of the treats with our neighbours in Prague House. The total raised from the bake sale was €458.50. The Student Council would like to thank you all for your support. The money raised has purchased/contributed to the following: * Christmas Lights on the front of the school. * They have also purchased a Christmas Tree for the School Hall. * The remainder of the money has contributed towards a new mobile speaker that can be used indoor and outdoors which will be a great asset to have for all future events/activities.
