LAST WEEK!
Hi everyone,
I can’t believe we have made it our last week of the school year. The children have come such a long way since their first day in Junior Infants.
What a year it has been! It has been a joy to teach such a cheerful, enthusiastic and loving class. I have missed ye so much. Thank you all for your ongoing support and positivity throughout the school year and particularly when the school closed.
Wishing you all a safe, relaxing and happy summer
See ye all again soon.

June 15th
To all in Junior Infants,
I’m sure you are all glad to hear that we are on the home stretch. You may be aware we are finished
academic work. You have all worked so hard at home with the help of mammy and daddy. It was not
easy trying to do school work at home but I’m so proud of ye all. So over the next few weeks I have
come up with some fun and enjoyable activities to keep you busy before the holidays. We have
finished academic work for this year but feel free to finish the last few pages in Planet Maths, Over
the Moon skills book.

Junior Infant Homework Week Beginning Monday 8th June
Hi all,
As we are getting near the end of the ‘school’ term, you will be glad to know, we will be reducing the amount of academic work from next week on. Please don’t worry if all the books are not complete. We will be going back over these topics again next year. If children would like to finish off their books over the summer they can! I completely understand that every situation at home is different so only complete the work if you can.
I hope you have a lovely week.

Keep safe and well
Miss Harrisson
This work is optional!
Here are some websites which are child friendly and would be beneficial to the children’s learning.
Here are some suggestions:
https://www.twinkl.ie/ Brilliant resource which contains activities and worksheets for all classes and subject areas. Access is now free due to Covid-19.
Worksheets do not necessarily need to be printed. Information could be copied from the computer to a copybook.
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ Games for English and Mathematics- click on learning resources and the age group you want
https://www.starfall.com/ Reading resource suitable for phonics and blending
www.gillexplore.ie is an online teaching tool that we use in the classroom. The online resources are now available to children at home.
www.cjfallon.ie is another teaching tool, they providing access to their website. In junior infants we use the Small World scheme for SESE. There is a lovely Spring nature walk p. 38. Before the break from school we were looking at animals etc p. 36 would be nice page to complete.
Grow in love: religion
Literacy:
Revision of phonics, what is the beginning sound of _____ ? What is the end sound of ____?
Free- writing activities- write whatever the pupil wants to. Do not help them encourage to sound it out!!
Oral language games:

I went to the (toy) shop and bought ________ (focus on different categories eg fruit or vegetable to in the fridge)
Revision of tricky words
